PER­MA­NENT JOB IN FINLAND

1. JOB-SEEK­ING

Employ­ee:

Look for job open­ings. Send your appli­ca­tion and CV to the employ­er by e‑mail.

Employ­er:

Post a job open­ing in the TE ser­vice and the Future in Savo website.

2. EMPLOY­MENT CONTRACT

Employ­ee:

Sign a writ­ten employ­ment con­tract with the employ­er. Apply for a res­i­dence per­mit for the same peri­od as your employ­ment con­tract is valid.

Employ­er:

Make an employ­ment con­tract in writ­ing. The employ­ment con­tract and the reli­a­bil­i­ty of the com­pa­ny will be assessed dur­ing the per­mit appli­ca­tion process.

3. RES­I­DENCE PERMIT

Employ­ee:

Apply for a res­i­dence per­mit in the Enter Fin­land online ser­vice and vis­it a ser­vice point to prove your identity. 

Employ­er:

Pro­vide the required attach­ments to the per­mit appli­ca­tion to the employ­ee or sub­mit them direct­ly in the Enter Fin­land service.

4. EMPLOY­MENT

Employ­ee:

You can start work­ing as soon as you get a res­i­dence per­mit. You can only work in the pro­fes­sion­al field that is stat­ed on your res­i­dence permit.

Employ­er:

Make sure that the employ­ee has the right to work. Focus on induct­ing the new employ­ee into the job and appoint a sup­port per­son for them.

5. EXTEND­ED PERMIT 

EMPLOY­EE:

Apply for an extend­ed per­mit well in advance, up to 3 months before your res­i­dence per­mit expires, so that you can con­tin­ue work­ing with­out interruption.

EMPLOY­ER:

Pro­vide the required attach­ments to the extend­ed per­mit appli­ca­tion with­out delay. You should also con­sid­er updat­ing the employ­ment con­tract with the employee.
